Purpose

The National Council for Social Enterprises (NCSE) exists to create an enabling environment for social enterprises in South Africa by setting industry standards, providing accreditation, advocating for policy changes, and facilitating access to funding. NCSE ensures that social enterprises can thrive as key drivers of economic inclusion and social impact.

Scope

NCSE operates across multiple sectors, working with government agencies, financial institutions, academia, and international partners to:

• Define and promote best practices for social enterprises.
• Provide capacity-building programs and certification.
• Advocate for policies that recognize and support social enterprises.
• Facilitate access to capital, investment, and market opportunities.
• Foster collaboration between social enterprises and mainstream industries.
